According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 170,000 children and teens are treated each year for sports or recreation-related traumatic brain injuries, including concussions. Playing or practicing with a concussion is dangerous and can lead to a longer recovery time and an increased risk of developing a more serious brain injury.
