Learning Objectives:
1. Given a pediatric patient presenting with a suspected sport-related concussion, the learner will be able to demonstrate the use of standardized assessment tools (such as the SCAT6 or VOMS) to differentiate between acute concussion symptoms and other neurological or vestibular etiologies within the office setting.
2. The learner will be able to interpret current clinical guidelines to formulate a graduated, symptom-guided 'Return to Learn' and 'Return to Play' protocol, specifically identifying the criteria for when to escalate care to a concussion specialist or neuro-ophthalmologist.
3. The learner will be able to apply shared decision-making strategies to educate parents, coaches, and athletes on the risks of premature return-to-play, emphasizing the physiological differences in the developing adolescent brain compared to adults.
