Learning Objectives:

1. Test and treat for rectal evacuation disorders in patients who have failed a trial of traditional laxatives and fiber supplementation.
2. Explain to patients pathophysiology of bloating and distention using the abnormal viscerosomatic reflex 
3. Discuss the abnormal stool burden is not the biggest cause of distention.
4. Identify the role that abnormal sensation with irritable bowel syndrome overlap can play in chronic constipation.
