OBJECTIVES:

1) Review fundamental pharmacological information for statin therapy.

2) Outline guideline recommendations for statin use in primary prevention, secondary prevention, and statin deprescirbing in older adults. 

3) Evaluate statin trials that included older adults and the applicability of their results to clinical decision making.
