Learning objectives
▪To review the normal bleeding cessation and clot formation process.
▪To understand the differential diagnosis of bleeding disorder by abnormality in PT/PTT studies.
▪To familiarize with typical presenting symptoms and treatment of bleeding in patients with Hemophilia and von Willebrand disease (vWD).
▪To appreciate how inhibitor development complicates treatment in patients with hemophilia and how to treat acute bleeds in this population.
▪To appropriately recommend disposition by bleed type.
