ED Doctors may be called to access femoral vessels while awaiting for ECMO team to arrive.  During this session we will review the use of the micropuncture kit and practice the technique.  

This workshop is in preparation for the city wide spring roll out of ECMO based CPR (ECPR).  While our ECMO colleagues will generally be the ones placing the large bore ECMO cannulas, we will assist by beginning the process when needed.  To practice this as safely as possible, we will be following best practices and using a micropuncture kit.
