Learning Objectives:
- Participants will be able to identify diagnostic traits for college students including similarities and differences from anxiety disorders.
- Participants will be able to plan specific strategies and treatment modalities for autistic students in a university setting.
- Participants will understand the importance of focusing on strengths as well as difficulties for autistic students.
Mikle South, PhD, Professor and Director of the Emory Autism Center, Deparment of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Emory School of Medicine.
His research focuses on the relationship between autism and mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, and risk of suicide. He also studies how to improve the diagnosis of autism, particularly in girls and women.
