Enumerate AF risk factors and describe the atrial substrate

•Describe the trigger hypothesis and role the pulmonary veinsplay in the mechanism of AF

•Perform initial diagnostic evaluation of the patient with newonset AF

•Prescribe risk factor modification for reduction of AF

•Prescribe treatment for stroke prevention

•Identify which patients will benefit from rhythm control
