Closer Look at Guideline-Based Management of IBD: Focused Updates for the IBD Care Team

Utilizing a pair of expert inter-professional speakers and featuring video vignettes of actual patients, the objective of this web-based activity is to provide nurses, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants with the latest data regarding identification of patients at high risk for rapidly progressive IBD, adoption of an individualized treatment approach to the selection and initiation of biologic therapies for achieving and sustaining remission of IBD, integration of guideline-based methods for preventive health maintenance and a review of the best practices for team-based approaches to patient-centered care in IBD.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to (or better able to):

  1. Implement consensus guidelines into the routine management of patients with IBD.
  2. Review the latest science on IBD treatment to attain mucosal healing and steroid-free remission.
  3. Describe ways to pursue clinical remission in IBD with treat-to-target strategies.
  4. Develop patient-centered approaches such as shared decision-making to better provide individualized care
