After attending this educational session, clinicians will:
- Recognize new nomenclature and key definitions
- Describe the epidemiological trends of liver disease and its emergence as a public health crisis and the role of primary care in curbing it
- Identify patient groups at highest risk for progressive and/or advanced liver disease
- Discuss the role non-invasive tests (NIT) in screening for advanced hepatic fibrosis in at-risk patients, their advantages/pitfalls
- Utilize an institution-based strategy to triage patients in need of specialty care
