Understand that the classification/definition of COPD continues to be refined and will be able to list the varied overlapping conditions that currently contribute to this heterogeneous group of patients and potential “pre-COPD” patients
GIM faculty will be able to describe the initial diagnostic evaluation of symptoms and testing results that support a diagnosis of COPD.
GIM faculty will be able to describe current evidence-based management strategies for COPD including current guidelines for smoking cessation, inhaled medications, and pulmonary rehab
