Learning Objectives:

1) Be able to describe neutrophil effector functions and how dysregulation can lead to disease progression during bacterial infections. 

2) Be able to recall that neutrophils undergo drastic transcriptional and proteomic changes while trafficking from the blood to the lung airspace. 

3) Be able to discuss how neutrophil inhibitory receptors may be key mediators of neutrophil reprogramming and modulation of the pulmonary immune environment during pneumonia.
