Sait Ashina, Sait Ashina, MD, FAHS
Dr. Sait Ashina is Assistant Professor of Neurology and Anesthesia at Harvard Medical School and a Director of Comprehensive Headache Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA. Dr. Ashina earned his medical degree at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. He did a clinical and research fellowship in Headache Medicine at the Montefiore Headache Center in New York, NY and the Danish Headache Center in Denmark. Dr. Ashina is a Diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and a Diplomat in Headache Medicine, United Council for Neurological Subspecialties. He is a member of the education committee of the International Headache Society. Dr. Ashina also served as a member of the International Headache Society headache classification subcommittee on Tension-Type Headache for the 3rd edition of the International Classification of Headache Disorders. He is also an Associate Editor of Neurology Reviews and BMC Neurology. He has won several awards for his work, including the Clinical Headache Fellowship Award from the American Headache Society and 2012 Enrico Greppi Award endorsed by the European Headache Federation/Italian Society for the Study of Headaches. His research interests include the epidemiology of headache and chronic pain, quantitative sensory testing, human pain models, muscle pain, role of photophobia in migraine pathophysiology, vestibular migraine, and structural brain lesions in migraine.
