Learning Objectives

At the end of this session learners will be able to:

  1. Assess if a hemoglobin level is critical to require transfusion in a patient with sickle cell disease, and be able to EMR to locate a care plan.
  2. Identify key parameters to prior transfusion in a patient with sickle cell disease.
  3. Identify clinical signs and symptoms of delayed hemolytic transfusion reaction.
  4. Management of a delayed hemolytic transfusion reaction.
