Eat to Treat: Miniseries, Haiti (July 14, 21 and 28, 2022)

In this webinar series for Boston Medical Center, participants will learn about the available patient resources and tools to host nutrition conversations and the most prevalent cultures at BMC. It will also show how to make referrals, how to use nutritional counseling strategies and also include cooking demonstrations to further explore cultural competency.

Target Audience

All healthcare professionals interested in nutritional care, including dietitians, pharmacists, physicians, physician assistants, nurses and nurse practitioners.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify available nutrition resources at BMC including food pantry, kitchen, and dietitians
  2. Identify 2 new foods from a common culture in the BMC community
  3. At least 90% of participants will Identify an intended change in practice that takes into account cultural and socioeconomic factors when discussing nutrition with patients
