Target Audience
Pharmacists, Physician Assistants, Nurses, and Nurse Practitioners who are interested in the field of Oncology
Learning Objectives
At the end of this educational activity, participants should be able to:
- Summarize new research and standards of care for various types of cancer (e.g., breast, gynecologic, gastrointestinal, prostate, kidney, and bladder cancers, melanoma, Hodgkin’s and Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, myelodysplastic syndromes/myeloproliferative neoplasms, multiple myeloma).
- Describe the role of immunotherapy and targeted therapies in managing a variety of different cancers.
- Use new knowledge about the complementary and alternative supplements to conduct discussions with patients about their use and potential interactions with cancer treatment.
