"Curiosity and Connection" Workshop - November 6, 2024

This workshop identifies faults in how we ask questions and how we listen to others. While many providers may be comfortable with the status quo of their communications with patients, this workshop will highlight opportunities to improve their conversations and interactions with patients. In turn, this will strengthen their patient care and medical practice.

Target Audience

Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners

Learning Objectives

At the end of this activity, the learner or healthcare team should be to:

  • Interview patients to understand the circumstances which contribute to their health in a curious, open-ended way
  • Identify three signs of listening and three signs of not listening
  • Describe the difference between questions to get facts and questions to get stories
