Attendees will learn basic ethical principals with specific regard to patients: autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence, justice, truth telling, how to request an ethics consult, how to prepare for one, and what to expect and will obtain a greater understanding of their role in the ethical challenges that arise in the care and treatment of patients.

After this program, the learner or healthcare team, will be able to:
- Describe what constitutes an ethical dilemma
- Identify how to request, prepare and participate in an ethics consult
- Develop strategies for negotiating disagreements relative to treatment care plans with other providers, family members and patients
