This one-hour course is intended to provide foundational knowledge of Brief Assessment and intervention for substance use in integrated behavioral health settings. Topics include assessments of SUD, interventions and co-occurring disorders

Target Audience

Integrated Behavioral Health Clinicians: Social Workers, Mental Health Counselors, and Psychologists

Learning Objectives

Participants will be better able to: 

- Describe tenets of "motivational interviewing for loved ones" (MILO) techniques

- Identify IBH patients' needs for learning MILO communication techniques 

- Implement several important MILO elements for successful conversations about behavior change
