This one-hour course is intended to provide foundational knowledge of Managing Chronic in Pain in a Medical Setting. Topics include stigma, the disease model of addiction, and an overview of evidence-based treatment of substance use disorders will be provided.

Target Audience

Integrated Behavioral Health Clinicians: Social Workers, Mental Health Counselors, and Psychologists

Learning Objectives

As a result of this activity, participants will be better able to

· Conceptualize chronic pain from an ACT framework

· Deploy Brief Pain Inventory both as an assessment and an intervention strategy

· Model Whole Body Scan Meditation as a mindfulness intervention

· Apply the “Passengers on the bus” metaphor to clarify and vales and align actions.
