Target Audience
This ECHO® series is designed for a primary care audience. It is open to physicians, nurse practitioners (NPs), physician associates (PAs), and nurses who care for people with MASLD/MASH.
Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this learning activity, participants will be better able to:
- Define the conditions of MASLD and MASH and their relationship to cardiometabolic conditions such as obesity and type 2 diabetes.
- Integrate available non-invasive tests into clinical practice for the identification, risk-stratification, and monitoring of patients with MASLD/MASH.
- Identify emerging treatments for MASLD/MASH and the criteria for patient eligibility.
- Outline evidence-based management strategies for individuals with MASLD/MASH, including how available therapies (e.g., GLP-1 RAs) can target multiple disease mechanisms.

Arpan Mohanty, MD, MSc is a hepatologist and clinical researcher at Boston Medical Center and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, where she directs Clinical Research in the Section of Gastroenterology. Her work focuses on improving care delivery for chronic liver diseases and has been supported by the NIH, AASLD, and RSNA. A recipient of the Robert A. Winn Career Development Award, she leads multiple clinical trials in chronic liver diseases and serves on the AASLD Practice Guidelines Committee. Dr. Mohanty is board certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Transplant Hepatology.
Dr. Mohanty is on the advisory board and receives grant research support from Gilead. She is also on the advisory board for Takeda and is a consultant and on the Adjudication Committee for Medpace. She is a consultant for Novo Nordisk and receives grant research support from Inventiva. She also serves as the site PI for clinical trials for Atea, Inventiva, Kowa, Madrigal, Novo Nordisk, and Takeda.

American Board of Internal Medicine Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Part 2 Credit

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 4.0 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.
