Peds EoE Quality Improvement Activity 2025-2026
A PI-CME and Portfolio project at Children's National Hospital to increase appropriate follow-up appointments after a positive diagnosis is provided by Boston University Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine, CCE.

Target Audience
Physicians and Nurses and others involved in the care of pediatric patients with EOE.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, learners should be able to:
1. Identify common barriers contributing to delayed diagnosis and treatment initiation in
pediatric EoE.
2. Implement strategies to reduce time from diagnosis to treatment initiation, in the context
of a team-based approach.
3. Conduct a comprehensive discussion with the patient and family when conveying the initial
diagnosis of EoE, to support understanding and shared decision-making around initial
treatment and minimize loss to follow-up.
4. Commit to practice changes as part of a care team to overcome barriers to EoE
diagnosis.
