PCPs participating in the ECHO Pediatric Program will demonstrate increased knowledge of the clinical signs and symptoms of FASD and options for screening children and adolescents for FASD.

PCPs participating in the ECHO Pediatric Program will demonstrate increased self-efficacy in addressing the needs of children and adolescents with suspected or diagnosed FASD and their families, including patient education, shared decision making and referrals to community resources.

PCPs participating in the ECHO Pediatric Program will report increased use of appropriate methods of identifying and addressing suspected FASD in children and adolescents and their families.

Primary Care Physicians, Specialty physicians, Psychologists, Physician assistants, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to: 

  • Summarize the prevalence of alcohol use during pregnancy and among women of childbearing age
  • Understand an overview of Unhealthy Alcohol Use and SBIRT
  • Understand an overview of the fundamentals of FASD and PAE
  • Understand an overview of Screening for FASD and PAE
  • Discuss issues related to stigma, bias, and community resources
