OB/GYN and PCPs participating in the ECHO Pediatric Program will demonstrate increased knowledge of the hazards of PAE and options for screening for alcohol use during pregnancy, using validated screening tools.

OB/GYN and PCPs participating in the ECHO Pediatric Program will demonstrate increased self-efficacy in identifying and addressing alcohol use during pregnancy, using SBIRT, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and facilitated referrals to community resources.

OB/GYN and PCPs participating in the ECHO Pediatric Program will report increased use of recommended methods of identifying and addressing alcohol use during pregnancy. 

Target Audience

Pediatric Care Providers, including family medicine/primary care/OB practitioners, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, behavioral health practitioners, case managers, medical assistants

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to

  • Explain the quality improvement process components for identifying stakeholders, identifying barriers, and prioritizing change ideas to implement systems-level change
  • Use a fishbone diagram to identify system-level barriers to making changes in your practice (e.g., implementing universal screening for prenatal alcohol exposure)
