Target Audience

The target audience of this activity includes global health professional, teachers, students and other stakeholders representing a diverse array of disciplines and specialties with focus on global health service, education and research. 

Learning Objectives

After attending this conference, learners will be able to:

  • Describe best practices in reducing NCDs; how health systems can be strengthened; the WHO's strategies to strengthen emergency and surgical care systems
  • Address the triple environmental crisis and improve NCDs; the value proposition of addressing NCDs across the social determinants of health. 
  • List the social determinants of health, how they interact with each other, what can be done to improve them, how to communicate to policymakers in the public about the social determinants of health, the co-benefits they deliver, and policies that can improve them. 
  • Identify the triple crisis, its current status, future projections, impacts on the SDH,  case studies on how to address the triple environmental crisis, the co-benefits of doing so and how these opportunities can be communicated to both the public and policymakers.
  • Understand the current range of existing infectious diseases, gaps in the global health security agenda, how these gaps can be overcome, how to advocate for investments in reducing pandemic risk, inform the public on increasing  vaccination rates, and reducing sepsis. 
  • Effectively communicate with policymakers in the public for impact
