At the end of this four part series, the learner should be able to: 


1. Describe unhealthy substance use, prenatal alcohol exposure (PAE) and fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASDs) 
2. Screen for unhealthy alcohol use and perform a brief negotiated interview (BNI) and summarize the Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) Process
3. Identify challenges and solutions to implement alcohol screening, BNI and patient FASDs education particularly during Covid-19
4. Discuss the principles of Motivational Interviewing and their applicability to patients with risky alcohol use
5. Summarize a range of treatment options for Alcohol Use Disorder
6. Explain how to counsel and work with different patients of a range of ages about their alcohol use
7. Describe alcohol use amongst adolescents
