At the end of this activity, the learner or the healthcare team should be able to:

  • Understand BORIM’s PCA governance requirements, including the purpose of the PCA, the role of the health center board, and the constitution of the PCA committee.
  • Understand how BORIM's PCA requirement interplays with HRSA’s quality requirements for health centers
  • Learn about the investigative aspects of the PCA Committee and the peer review privilege under Massachusetts law 
  • Understand reporting obligations to the Board of Registration in Medicine (BORIM) and the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB)
