Target Audience

Primary care physicians, internists, family practice physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and physician assistants

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
  • Describe clinical scenarios in which long-acting agents are appropriate, how to choose them, and how to calculate the proper dosages
  • Name administrative impediments to proper care (payer, pharmacy, and practice issues) that require special therapeutic approaches
  • Analyze and implement appropriate responses to typical patient compliance challenges, including anomalous urine tox screens or behavioral trends suggestive of potential diversion
