Primary care physicians, internists, family practice physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and physician associates

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
  • Understand Codman Square Health Center’s direct-to-inject, long-acting injectable buprenorphine induction model and describe the key steps of the protocol.
  • Apply the direct-to-inject toolkit to initiate patients with opioid use disorder on LAIBs and adapt the protocol based on individual patient use profiles and clinical presentations.
  • Analyze common barriers to implementing direct-to-inject programs and evaluate evidence-based solutions to address operational and clinical challenges.
  • Evaluate clinical and logistical scenarios to make informed decisions about patient candidacy, protocol modifications, and troubleshooting during direct-to-inject inductions.
