Target Audience

Primary care physicians, internists, family practice physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and physician assistants

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
  • Establish patient goals aimed at reducing negative consequences of substance use, rather than centering on abstinence
  • Identify three harm reduction strategies than can easily be implemented in primary care settings
  • Be able to recognize and refer to community partners that are implementing harm reduction
