The Essentials of School Nurse Leadership

What key competencies are necessary to be a strong performing leader? What steps can I take to build these skills?

This course is intended to provide the learner with the foundational tools and actionable strategies that align with modern leadership practices. It endeavors to enhance knowledge, skills, and behaviors so nurses can be successful in the school setting and act as leaders in their community.

This course addresses the following Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals:

  • Communication Skills

In support of improving patient care, Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Nursing Contact Hours: 3.5 contact hours, of which 0 are eligible for pharmacology credit.

 

SHIELD is a DESE-approved provider for PDPs. PDP certificates are issued for programs/series lasting 10 or more hours on a topic. CNE certificates are also issued for eligible courses. Learners may use CNE certificates toward PDPs.
