The nursing teams from Sandwich, Nauset, and Dennis-Yarmouth collaborated with Northeastern University to host an evening event on May 14th, focused on medical child abuse, specifically Munchausen by Proxy. The presentation, titled Harm Disguised as Care: Professional and Survivor Insights on Recognizing Munchausen by Proxy Abuse in Schools, was attended by more than 70 local school-based professionals, including nurses, counselors, and social workers.

Expert speakers from Massachusetts, Florida, and Missouri shared valuable insights to raise awareness and educate attendees about this serious yet often overlooked issue impacting school-aged children.
