This exciting symposium is designed for physicians, dentists, psychologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, physical therapists, and other health professionals to learn from the leaders in headache medicine.

Target Audience
This program is designed to educate practitioners who have an interest in the diagnosis and management of headache disorders. These include neurologists, primary care providers, dentists, psychologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, physical therapists, and other health care providers with an interest in Headache Medicine.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the participants or the healthcare team will be able to:
- Describe the classification, diagnosis, treatment strategies and ways to measure outcomes for common primary headache disorders
- Examine the most recent evidence for the acute and preventive treatment of migraine
- Discuss percutaneous interventional strategies in headache disorders
- Describe new therapeutic targets for migraine
- Describe the differential regulation of trigeminal nociceptive pathways by CGRP and GABA
- Discuss the role of oxytocin and vasopressin signaling in migraine
- Discuss the presentation, diagnosis and treatment of new daily persistent headache.
- Examine the role of occipital nerve decompression in chronic migraine
- Discuss the different visual phenomena in migraine
- Describe various educational and advocacy programs in headache medicine in both the US and abroad
- Describe the mechanisms of the human stress response in relation to headache disorders
- Examine the role of triggers in predicting migraine attacks.
- Describe the emerging evidence of GLP-1 receptor agonists in the treatment of headache disorders
- Describe the relationship between autonomic disorders and migraine

Cancellation Policy
Substitution may be made at any time without an additional charge. Refunds will be issued for all cancellations received at least two weeks prior to the start of the conference. A $50.00 administrative fee will be charged for all refunds and credits. Should cancellation occur less than two weeks prior to the start of the conference, a credit towards another Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine Center for Continuing Education conference will be issued, not a refund.
“No shows” are subject to the full course fee. Substitutions must be made in writing to [email protected]. Refunds and credits will not be issued once the conference has started.
