These meetings are designed for School Nurse Managers in districts that have received either the Model or Affiliated CSHS grant. Sessions will be delivered live via Zoom and the last meeting will be in person.

NOTE: While programming for CSHS meetings is developed with the grantee scope of service and performance measures in mind, any school health professional may benefit from topics covered, and guiding principles for CQI projects described within the grant framework are applicable to any district or school.

These meetings provide networking and consultation opportunities in areas such as leadership development, policies, emergency preparedness, and the role of the school nurse leader.

Managing your CSHS Budget

This self-paced course is designed for nurse leaders in districts that have received funding through the CSHS grant. This course builds confidence and competence in managing the CSHS budget. Topics covered include understanding your district’s CSHS grant scope, allowable expenses, working with your business office to create solid tracking systems, amending and reconciling your grant expenses, and meeting grant timelines and requirements.

The topics of this exciting program include racial equity, safe cleaning, indoor triggers, medications, and medical management, particularly concerning COVID-19. This training includes presentations by subject matter experts from the CDC and the MDPH Asthma Prevention and Control Program, among others, who deliver the latest updates.
